FoodStartup Indonesia was started as Demoday in Yogyakarta in late November 2016 as a pilot project. It was curating 50 FoodStartups and selected 10 best ones as finalists. The project continued in 2017, established two more Demodays in Denpasar and Bandung. The Final FoodStartup Indonesia was held in Yogyakarta in September 2017. In 2017 only, it has collected 2,005 leads, 440 pitch decks, 150 curated FoodStartup Indonesia, 29 Finalists, and 3 best FoodStartup Indonesia.
Foodlab Indonesia and BEKRAF (Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy) are building a continuous platform that connects these food startups to to financial accesses and an integrated ecosystem. As a result, a significant growth for this food startups.
This is an annual offline event that curate FoodStartups Indonesia, the curation process is through Innovation Readiness Level by professional mentors in food industry and government bodies. In the Demoday, food startups will have opportunities to network - mentored - and pitch to the investores. Once curated in the demoday, food startups will have access to supporting programs by Indonesian Agency for Creative Economy.
FoodStartups can also look for review and assistance for their progress through online platform. It can connects you to mentors - government bodies - supplies - and also investors. This way, scaling up is easier.
